A motorcycle trip that shows that freedom is sometimes best shared. After a peaceful night in Amasya, I set off today with Ünal Abi, who has traveled around 800 kilometers from Manisa to meet me. He rides the same BMW R 1300 GS Adventure – with the same decals – and so a new chapter begins on this journey: friendship, trust, and freedom on two wheels. From Amasya, our route takes us along winding mountain roads, through tunnels and small villages, past rivers and wide valleys. We experience Turkey in all its diversity – from quiet moments by the roadside to lively conversations at gas stations. With every kilometer, our destination draws closer: Kemaliye, the gateway to the legendary Dark Canyon. In the evening, we reach the valley, have dinner together, and end the day with a warm bowl of soup. The tranquility, the light, the atmosphere – everything feels like arrival.
