NZ South Island Itinerary 11/14 - Hooker Valley & Mount Cook from Tekapo : Track partially closed (till Spring 2026) BUT STILL TOTALLY WORTH THE TRIP!!! Join us on another of New Zealand's most scenic road trips as we journey from Lake Tekapo to Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park and the famous Hooker Valley Track. The drive takes us past the stunning turquoise waters of Lake Pukaki, along the spectacular Mount Cook Road, and into the heart of New Zealand's highest mountain range. Although the Hooker Valley Track was only partially open during our visit due to the closure of the second suspension bridge, the experience was still unforgettable. We explored the accessible section of the track, visited Mueller Lake Lookout, crossed the first suspension bridge, and enjoyed breathtaking views of Aoraki / Mount Cook, Mount Sefton and the surrounding alpine landscape. ⚠️ IMPORTANT TRACK UPDATE: The Hooker Valley Track is currently partially closed.
