Familiares agreden a presunto feminicida en juzgados de Villanueva

The alleged murderer, Daniel Meráz, was attacked by relatives of his wife, Mercedes López, as he left his arraignment hearing at the Villanueva, Cortés, courthouse. Tension filled the courtroom, where neighbors and friends of the murdered nurse were present, while the victim's uncle, Amílcar López, broke down in tears demanding justice. Meráz was transferred to the El Progreso Penitentiary Center in Yoro, and his initial hearing was scheduled for Monday, June 15, at 9:00 a.m.
