Before You Buy a New Remote, Try This Fix!

Our TV remote stopped scrolling properly, so I figured, why not crack it open and see if I can fix it. In this video, I take it apart, explore how the buttons and scroll wheel actually work and fix it using mostly everyday tools. (Do you consider a drill an everyday tool?) There’s a little trial and error, but ultimately the remote is fixed. If you’ve got a remote that’s almost working and you’re curious how these things are built, this is a low-risk, learn-something kind of repair. Worst case? You still end up buying a new one.
