This is one of the earliest surviving VAZ-2103s, with chassis number 330. Retail price in 1972 was 7,500 rubles. This year, the VAZ-2103, the most elegant model in the factory's history, is celebrating its 50th anniversary. For this occasion, we acquired a 1972 model. And not just any model, but one with the "B" index. The fact is that during the first year of production, there weren't enough components for all the cars. Therefore, the decision was made to assemble some cars with VAZ-2101 interiors. These "Troikas" received the additional "B" index, meaning "temporary." From the outside, the "V" is easily identified by its inverted taillights—their turn signal is located at the top, not the bottom, like on a regular 2103. Otherwise, it's an unremarkable "Troika"—a real slob. This is the name given to the first cars that had no vents in the front apron. While many believe that all Zhiguli models are identical in performance, this is not true. The VAZ-2103 is strikingly different from the first model – quieter, smoother, and faster. Thanks to a new 1500cc engine producing 72 hp, it is also a true example. But the rare VAZ-2103V leaves a mixed impression. On the one hand, it is truly unique and rare. On the other, one of the "troika's" greatest assets, besides the engine, was its interior. Two-tone, with an abundance of chrome. The dashboard features wood-effect inserts and a row of instruments with a previously unseen tachometer, while the seats are partially upholstered in expensive velour.
