The Prefect of the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints recalled the words of St. John Bosco: "For you I study, for you I work, for you I live, and for you I am ready even to give my life." He emphasized that the new blesseds truly gave their lives as martyrs of Christ and the Church. "When the anti-religious hatred, violence, and injustice that raged in the last century tried to scatter the flock, they did not flee," he pointed out, noting that Salesian priests remained faithful to their vocation until their arrest and martyrdom.
