Why go to Stavanger ? - P&O Iona Cruise first port stop in Norway.

Stavanger was the first stop on our seven day cruise to Norway. Positioned in the south west corner, this industrialised town didn’t seem like it had much to offer. After some research we soon found out that there are many museums here which we were not interested in, but, there is Viking history here too. We ventured out to the old town which is right on the docks, you can’t miss it, then continued with a hop on hop off bus which does show you the main sights. There is no doubt, this Is not a waste of time stop as I was fearing. Stavanger is so underrated and has many interesting places to experience.
