White Album 2 OP | Todokanai Koi ("A Love That Cannot Be") [Piano]

This song is easily one of my favourites in all of anime, with how much meaning it holds within the tragic romance that is White Album 2. By far my favourite anime of all time, this song reflects many of its core themes — the cowardice, impulsiveness, irrationality, selfishness, and suffering that comes with love. In only 13 episodes, it has left me emotionally touched like no way ever before. Musically, I found the song is a bit lacking on piano — so I utilized additional melodies in the top register and three-hand technique as much as possible to complement the main voice. While the original song has a relatively lively beat, I went for a much more reserved approach to emphasize the tragic nature of the song.
