Installing a Plywood subfloor in a sprinter van | Sprinter Van Build

In this video we went by the local hardware store and purchased some 23/32 five layer plywood. we thought long and hard about this over just 1/2 inch plywood and for the extra strength and fastening capability we thought the 3/4 ply woods benefits justified the extra weight and the 1/4 inch in height loss. Lets be honest, I am not going to be able to stand up in this van at my height anyway. From there we used the factory flor as a template to cut out the floor sections, used adhesive to glue down the polyiso insulation to the van floor, used a mold resistant paint on the underside of the plywood and the edges, then glued and fastened the plywood sections one at a time from back to front. we also took the extra measure of utilizing pocket screws to join the sections of plywood together to ensure a level transition. the purlins were spaced to provide plenty of support so that joint is not under stress.
