Hiking Mt Kelimutu: Indonesia’s Mysterious Colour-Changing Volcano

We hiked Mount Kelimutu, an active volcano on Flores Island, Indonesia, famous for Danau Kelimutu—three sacred crater lakes that mysteriously change color. In this travel vlog, we show you our pre-dawn hike to the summit, starting from the small mountain village of Moni. After flying from Labuan Bajo to Ende, we stayed at the Kelimutu Crater Lakes Ecolodge before setting off on our adventure.
