Ileana Mavrodin is the architect of the Clay Castle in Valea Zânelor - Sibiu, the Cob Village in Berca - Buzău, the Green Stopover in Sângeorz - Băi and the Green House in Sasca, tourist attractions that take you to a fairy tale land. She returned to Romania after 12 years in Canada and although she had a well-paid job and a beautiful house, located near a forest, when she arrived on vacation in Romania, she did not want to return to Canada. She fell in love with the wild area of ​​Sasca, bought a plot of land and started building her own house out of cob, - a mixture of earth, sand and straw. Acquaintances and relatives thought she had lost her mind and although she was not supported by family and friends, she did not give up - she built her house with her own hands with her heart and soul. This is how Casa Verde in Sasca came to life, today a tourist attraction and she became the first architect in Romania to work on cob houses. Her project was highly appreciated and more and more Romanians are asking her for help in building cob houses, ecological homes, as close to nature as possible.
