ScummLLM - Reimagining Sierra Adventure Games with AI

What if classic Sierra adventure games had access to modern Large Language Models? ScummLLM is an experimental project that intercepts the narration generated by ScummVM and lets an LLM reinterpret it in real time through customizable personality prompts. Instead of changing the games themselves, the original narration is transformed on the fly while preserving the original gameplay. In this video I demonstrate: • How ScummLLM works internally • How to configure and run it • Live demonstrations with King's Quest IV and Leisure Suit Larry 2 • Different AI personalities, including a deliberately over-the-top "Trump-style" narrator The personalities shown are only examples. Any strange jokes, insults, historical inaccuracies, absurd statements, or unexpected plot twists are generated by the language model, not hardcoded into the game.
