COUNTRY TO CAPITAL | 43 MILE ULTRA | Race Review | Vlog

Country to Capital Ultra from Go Beyond Challenge is a fabulous 43-mile point to point race well established as the season opener to the Ultra race calendar. In this video I review the race and take you with me on my journey accross the beautiful countryside and then down the Grand Union Canal into London. My day started early as I had to leave home at 5:30am to get to the start line, but after a couple of coffees and a bacon sandwich I was ready for action. This is a very well organised event, and I was impressed with how well everything was managed at the start to ensure social distancing was maintained. Everything felt safe and well managed from arrival, picking up race numbers, timing tags and getting across the start line. The checkpoints and aid stations were amazing! The volunteers were friendly, helpful and supportive even with the additional challenge of ensuring everyone uses hand sanitiser and maintains social distancing. The aid stations were very well stocked with snacks, gels, bananas and water. Once again, thank you for looking after us all so well! I didnt get much video of the checkpoints as I was too busy sorting out my water etc. This is historically a sell-out event that takes you through the stunning Buckinghamshire countryside and crossing the M25 (by bridge of course!) We then make our way through the picturesque village of Denham where we pick up the Grand Union Canal tow path for the final run into London. The finish is at the Little Venice canal basin a surprising tranquil setting but in the heart of London next to Paddington station.
