RESTORING SALTMARSH
Saltmarsh is a fragile habitat that provides a home for waders, wildfowl and a host of other specialist wildlife. But it also does an important job helping to protect against the impacts of climate change. Steph Elliot is proud of the work she and others have done to protect and expand the saltmarsh at RSPB Scotland's Nigg Bay nature reserve. She explains how this important habitat helps nature, protects us from flooding and works as a carbon store too.
