EASY adorable quilt label on a Bernina

Making a quilt label on your Bernina using the built-in alphabet is easier than you think. Make this adorable quilt label by following these steps. 1) Fabric set up - prewash to avoid shrinkage. I love a crinkly quilt - but not crinkly lettering! apply a stiff interfacing, not thick but stiff. You can cut around it when done. draw 1/2 " lines (pencil, NOT Gel pen which can reappear!) 2) Set up accessories- clear foot to see what you're doing wide opening stitch plate 3) Set up Machine Program - See video but basically: alphabet, type in first line, edit to group, program end, knot Stitch out, delete repeat for next line can add simple graphics but choosing designs from other folders - like the scissors I want to give credit to Cody and Pete for his excellent video Instructions which I referred to constantly in the beginning. This video adds a little bit by showing how to program in the end function so that the line doesn’t continue to repeat itself and will automatically stop at the end of your line. Without this, I sometimes didn't catch the last character with my stop button and it'd start all over again. Also, you can add a Knot to the beginning and end to secure the stitches so they don't come out after a lot of washes and use. I can also make quilt labels using my Bernina embroidery module, but that’s a lot of set up, extra materials, and trial and error. I think this Decorative Stitch label is just as cute and about 1/10 the work.
