EP3 Overlanding in Japan - Mt Fuji - FJ Cruiser Solo Trip

Episode 3: Exploring the Super Forest Road and Mount Fuji Welcome back to my solo overland adventure from Tokyo to Shikoku and back! In this episode, we wake up deep in the heart of Shikoku, tackling the iconic Mount Tsurugi Super Rindo Forest Road and we return back to Tokyo, spending the night camping at the base of Mount Fuji and exploring some really cool Toyota 4 wheel drives. Day 4: We start our day at the Shikoku mountains botanical garden "GAKUJIN no MORI" campground, 四国山岳植物園“岳人の森, waking up to stunning views of the surrounding peaks. After a leisurely breakfast of pancakes and coffee, we embark on the challenging Super Forest Road, Japan's longest public mountain 4x4 trail. In Japanese it's 剣山スーパー林道. The drive is beautiful, as we navigate the winding roads, we encounter a variety of off-road enthusiasts, including a quirky Suzuki offroad modified van. After a long drive back in the direction of Tokyo, we reach our final campsite of the trip, nestled at the base of Mount Fuji. 富士山. We set up camp at the Fumotoppara campsite, ふもとっぱらキャンプ場, a vast grassy area with panoramic views of the majestic mountain. Day 5: We spend the morning of day 5 savoring the tranquility and stunning views of Mount Fuji. We also take some time to explore the campsite, marveling at the various Toyota touring, camping and overlanding vehicles parked there. We find several Toyota FJ Cruisers, a Land Cruiser 60, 70 and 80 series, Land Cruiser Prado 120 and 150 series, and a whole lot more. Finally, it's time to say goodbye to Fuji San and head back to Tokyo. We return our FJ Cruiser to the rental agency and reflect on the incredible experiences of our overland adventure.
