Face Direction Variability Skill Drills Level 4 & 5

Face Direction Variability Practice | Clubface Control In this practice session, the golfer works on face direction variability from Adam Young’s course, focusing on controlling clubface direction by setting up atypically and trying to land shots within defined offline boundaries. They attempt level four (±13.5 yards) and pass after adjusting from shots that curved too much when the clubface got overly closed, noting some very toey strikes and unusually long, drawy nine-irons. They then move to level five (±9 yards), narrow the setup, and pass despite occasional fat and thin strikes and moments of lost focus, experimenting briefly with an open stance to create a slice-like shot. In the debrief, they identify the main error as closing the face too much, highlight their best pattern as inside-out with a slightly open face (but less open than the path), and note the importance of a good warmup and future work on calibration and ground contact. 00:00 Practice Session Setup 00:53 Drill Goals And Levels 02:32 Warmup And Grip Keys 03:10 Level Four Attempts 06:17 Fixing Overdraw Misses 10:53 Level Four Pass And Wrap 11:56 Level Five Narrow Target 14:01 Level Five Adjustments 19:28 Preview Alternating Shapes 21:55 Final Debrief And Next Steps
