FINALLY uploading this video after finishing it weeks ago…It’s also funny because when I recorded this video I was celebrating 66 subscribers and we are WAY past that now 🫶 To my YouTube audience: I posted a tik tok with my first reaction after finishing the book and it got a lot of attention to say the least. Most of the comments were empathetic but I couldn’t stop thinking about all the people that didn’t understand why everyone was so upset. And, of course, I wanted to answer that question. There was also a small percentage of people that enjoyed my suffering and relentlessly reminded me of the most soul-crushing quotes from the book and to those people: how dare you 🙂 I know April is already over but The Song of Achilles is my top pick for the month of April and a new contender for favorite read of the year. But now, we are going into May which is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month which means a whole new lineup of amazing books. I will be focusing on highlighting books from these authors and a variety of different genres so get excited!
