N.Z DOCUMENTARY📽🎬 - NO MĀORI ALLOWED

N.Z Documentary - No Māori Allowed When an academic unearths a forgotten history, residents of the small township of Pukekohe, including kaumātua who have never told their personal stories before, confront its deep and dark racist past. N.Z Documentary on the checkered past of my hometown PUKEKOHE. This documentary cuts deep FAM'S as I personally know a couple of the people shown sharing their stories. Growing up as a child in Pukekohe during the 70's & 80's I barely encountered racism, probably too naive to notice or understand it anyhow. I remember my loved one telling us her horrific ordeal as a young child, but myself being young and naive at the time I thought nothing of it. So to see my loved one reliving the mamae that she has carried for decades was personally heartbreaking too me. And in that instant the memory of her sharing her traumatic experience earlier in my life came flooding back too me. Very sad to see and hear the way my whanau and maaori in general were treated in those decades. Sadly there is still an undercurrent of racism here in Pukekohe till this very day.
