Global Urban Study: Scotland-Preparing | City Builders Ep.30
What are the steps taken and initial elements incorporated in preparing for an Archive DS Global Urban Study? Join Mark and Dorian for a discussion on that aspect of their Global Urban Study process. This episode provides some insight into the steps taken to prepare for a major travel study event. These include reading and research, planning an itinerary, identifying architectural, urban and cultural elements that are to be considered to study and tour, some sketching and note taking, among others steps. In this case, the example is the recently completed Global Urban study that has been titled, G.E.D. It was an immersive study of Scotland and G.E.D. is an acronym for Glasgow + Edinburgh + Distilleries. The study was focused on the 2 largest cities in Scotland and small towns, the countryside and Scottish distilleries that collectively help to establish the culture of this historic and legendary part of the world. ______________________________________________________________________ NOTE: All photos and videos shown in this episode were taken by Mark Nickita, FAIA and Dorian Moore, FAIA except as noted.
