Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway - Auto-trailer ride - Chinnor to Princes Risborough

My visit to the beautiful Chinnor and Princes Risborough railway on Saturday 25th September 2021 for a really interesting event featuring ex GWR 6400 'Pannier' class 0-6-0PT number 6412 and auto-trailer number W167 in service that day thus giving a really authentic flavour to railway travel on a Western region branch line in the 1950s. In this video I take a ride from Chinnor to Princes Risborough through stunning countryside. The driver can be seen at intervals operating the regulator, breaking and even the whistle of the locomotive all from the auto-trailer! The 'auto-trailer'or 'auto coach' enabled the train to be driven from either end - locomotive or carriage - and was the forerunner of todays modern diesel and electric multiple units.
