My Esteemed Citizens, In 2019, I was elected Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality with your legitimate votes. With a populist and social democratic approach to municipal governance, we have implemented many valuable services and investments in Istanbul, the apple of Turkey's eye. But most importantly, we have achieved this: We have proven that a local government that serves all Istanbul residents, not just a minority; that prioritizes merit, transparency, and accountability; and that puts children, youth, and women first is possible. Since March 19th, we have been fighting against pressure, coercion, and political conspiracies in many areas. One of these is happening on social media.
