U-534 Quick Dive: A Little Help From Our Friends (from U-995!)
For our first feature-length video, we invited our favourite u-boat experts to investigate U-534's interior spaces, artefacts and documents. Along the way they made some amazing new discoveries! There's lots of uncut footage both inside the boat and in our archives, and we hope it gives you an idea what it's like to work on such a unique, historic project. Paul-Patrick Schroder is a serving naval officer and the chairman of Marinekameradschaft Freundeskreis U-995 - the last remaining Type VII u-boat, now preserved in Laboe as both a museum and memorial. His partner Katie Anna Lehnen is a marine archaeologist with experience conserving and studying historic vessels, including U-995.
