LA480 Control Valve Rebuild

In this video we'll rebuild a LA480 control valve. This is on a L2900 from about 1985. I'm rebuilding this as the loader will drop under load while the engine is running and its becoming unsafe. I've had the bucket and arm cylinders rebuilt a few years ago and it seemed to help a little, but the dropping under load has started and got worse over the past few months. Its always dropped with the engine off. I made a few mistakes putting this back together. I had ordered all the parts before I took it apart so I could decrease downtime. Unfortunately weather and needing more parts (poppets and poppet springs) caused this to take 2 months. It would have been shorter, but I did this at the end of 2024 and Kubota upgraded all their systems. So if Messciks (or any dealer) didn't have the part in stock it was a 2 week wait on Kubota and then on shipping. After rebuild: Bucket still drops when the engine isn't on (no surprise). Loader arms are holding well under load, but unfortunately the bucket itself uncurls. I had these rebuilt during covid and I think the shop used what they could get rather than OEM due to covid restrictions. The loader does work better, not nearly as jerky going up and down, but next we need to rebuild the bucket cylinders. Perhaps another video if this helps someone out.
