How to make Andhra style fish pulusu at home. Spicy, tangy, and full of rich village-style flavor. 📝 Ingredients 500 g fish pieces 2 onions, sliced 2 tomatoes, chopped lemon-sized tamarind 6 garlic cloves 2 green chilies curry leaves coriander leaves ⸻ 🌶️ Masala 1 1/2 tbsp red chili powder 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1 tbsp coriander powder salt as needed ⸻ 🍳 Instructions 1. Wash the fish pieces well and keep them aside with a little turmeric and salt. 2. Soak the tamarind in warm water and extract thick tamarind juice. 3. Heat oil in a pot. Add garlic, green chilies, and curry leaves. Sauté until fragrant. 4. Add sliced onions and cook until soft and light golden. 5. Add tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy. 6. Add chili powder, turmeric, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well. 7. Pour the tamarind juice and add enough water. Let it boil for 8–10 minutes until the raw smell goes away. 8. Gently add the fish pieces and cook on medium flame for 10–12 minutes without stirring too much. 9. Once the fish is cooked and the pulusu becomes slightly thick, switch off the flame. 10. Add a little coriander leaves and rest for 10 minutes before serving 11.
