It is built on a new platform that has allowed for a fresher and more emotive exterior and interior design. The Corolla name has also been revived, to the satisfaction of those most nostalgic. The Corolla competes in perhaps the most difficult segment: the mid-size compact segment, known as the C segment. This group includes the Volkswagen Golf, Ford Focus, Peugeot 308, Honda Civic, Kia Cee'd, Hyundai i30, and Seat León, among many others. But the Corolla, unlike its rivals, is a hybrid.
