Chevy SS with ARH Long Tube headers and X pipe
Part 1: • 2014 Chevy SS Exhaust Comparison I recently upgraded my Chevy SS from the OEM exhaust coupled with a aftermarket mufflers (actually Solo J pipes) to ARH 1-7/8" long headers with 3" X pipe. Since the headers were obnoxiously loud with the Solo J pipes and had multiple drone frequencies, I opted to use the OEM mufflers. The OEM mufflers are still extremely loud, but there is no drone. The sound levels also track the throttle opening very linear (meaning more throttle, more sound in a very predictable and reliable fashion), where as the Solo J pipes were NASCAR loud if you accelerated from 30mph to 31mph.
