Wasaga Beach: The dunes that shape a shore

Wasaga Beach is a beloved tourism destination and a thriving ecosystem. Yet, the Government of Ontario has removed provincial park protections for the beach and weakened protection for species at risk. There is no guarantee the Town of Wasaga Beach will maintain the natural shoreline and globally rare dune ecosystem that sustains the beach, protects the town from high water and provides a home for countless species. Please help us by sharing this video. We need to protect the dunes, the plovers and Wasaga Beach. You may also choose to call or email your MPP and officials at the Town of Wasaga Beach to let them know the beach is a public asset that belongs to all Ontarians and is essential habitat for native species.
