Monoprinting techniques using just acrylic paint

I've had a lot of comments about using the monoprinting techniques with acrylic paints rather than oil, so I thought I would make this very quick demo. This is an exercise in exploring mark making techniques using this versatile method and although the end result is abstract and maybe a little bit messy, it is a very simple way to achieve interesting and varied textures, you can apply this to your own style. Quick tip : I always like to have a border around the artwork, it is useful for handling the finished work while wet, it's a space to sign and date and it just looks more professional. I have tried a few methods but prefer the one used in this video. Make a cardboard frame, allow at least a 1" border, cover with parcel tape and fix the paper (for the artwork) on the back with masking tape. This way you don't leave marks on the surface and you can use less masking tape. Acrylic paints are used with no additional medium, so I have not added a retarder to slow down the drying process. As in my previous demos paint is applied using small pieces of plastic (recycled carriers) Remember it is important not to apply too much paint. Use torn newspaper to mask off areas on the surface and apply very light pressure on the plastic as you transfer the paint onto the paper, unlike oil paint the fast drying time of acrylic means you need to work with more speed, this takes practice but it can also improve results. Don't worry too much about the outcome to begin with just enjoy experimenting with the techniques. Thanks for watching and supporting this channel, all comments and feedback appreciated.
