Riversdale Road Tramway Square Level Crossing, Camberwell | Where trams meet trains! *Harmon lights*

G'day everyone! Here is a 28 minute video of trains and trams because I wanted to make this. This is the Riversdale Road tramway square, one of only 2 tramway squares in the world! It is a metro operated, manually controlled, gated railway crossing located roughly 9 kilometres (5.59 miles) away from Melbourne's CBD. This level crossing is located on the Alemain train line and trains are speed restricted to 30 kilometres an hour. The level crossing is also located on the Route 70 tram line which as of June 2026 uses Z class trams. I was there on I believe a saturday so they only trains I saw were 3 car X'trapolis shuttles between Alemain and Camberwell. VOLUME WARNING FOR THE ENTIRE VIDEO, WHEN TRAINS CROSS IT IS VERY LOUD Some equipment present at the crossing includes: X2 Safetran gate mechanisms X2 Wooden wishbone gates X4 Barker Technics E Bells, one on each signal (extremely unwell and prone to dying) X4 Pedestrian swing gate mechanisms X4 Westinghouse crossarms X8 Westinghouse incandescent lights X4 Harmon incandescent lights (2 on each gated signal facing the track) X4 Traditional white crossbucks of 2 slats of metal X4 Unmarked signal bases X8 LED traffic lights with tram "T" lights (for pedestrian crossing) X2 LED pedestrian traffic light signals Hope you enjoy the video!
