BMW S1000R Oil Change Step-by-Step | S1000RR & XR Compatible

First oil change on my 2016 BMW S1000R at 6,000 miles! This step-by-step video shows how I changed the oil using Motul 7100 5W40, replaced the filter, and covered all the key torque specs. This applies to the S1000RR and XR models as well. Factory Service Interval is 6,200 miles (10,000 km) or 1 year but don't wait that long, do it at 1 year or 3,000 miles. Torque Specifications: • Oil Drain Plug (T50 Torx): 28 Nm • Oil Filter (PN: 11 42 8 409 567): 11 Nm • Oil Filter (PN: 11 42 5 B70 298): 15 Nm Parts & Tools Used: • Oil: Motul 7100 5W40 – https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IKCY7L8 • Oil Filter: BMW OEM – https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015GEX5QU • Tool: ValueMax Strap Wrench Set – https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08K2Y8JPP • Cleaner: Pyroil Non-Chlorinated Brake Cleaner – https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RHQBM1Y BMW superseded the legacy oil filter part number (1 42 7 721 779 - 04). Pay close attention to the part number you receive, as the torque specification depends directly on the revision: • PN 11 42 8 409 567 requires 11 Nm • PN 11 42 5 B70 298 requires 15 Nm Note: This video covers the mechanical service only. Turning off the "Service" dash light requires an electronic diagnostic tool. Like, comment, and subscribe for more DIY bike content!
