In this video, we'll take a brief look at the history of the Dutch electronics manufacturer Philips. It's a fascinating story, because little remains of the many divisions of the Dutch conglomerate. I still have several Philips devices in my home. But what remains? What did they offer? What were their successes, and unfortunately, their costly flops? The Philips Group has since divested itself of almost all of its divisions and is now focusing on medical technology. The global corporation has shrunk down to survive, because other companies in the world are simply more innovative these days. By the way: the deal with Funai for the electronics division fell through (CORRECTION). After various Chinese companies, TP Vision now manufactures the devices and puts the Philips name on them.
