Fixing Multi-Piece Broken Aluminium Alloy Wheel

Repairing an aluminium alloy rim that is broken into multiple pieces is a challenging but possible process when done with proper tools and professional techniques. In this video, we show the complete step-by-step method used in workshops to restore a severely damaged alloy wheel. First, all broken pieces of the rim are carefully collected and cleaned to remove dirt, oil, and oxidation. Proper alignment is critical, so the pieces are positioned accurately using clamps or fixtures to maintain the original shape of the wheel. After alignment, TIG welding (Tungsten Inert Gas welding) is used because it is ideal for aluminium and provides strong, clean welds. The welding process is done slowly to avoid overheating and distortion. Once all cracks and joints are welded, the rim is cooled and inspected for strength and balance. Grinding and smoothing are then performed to remove excess weld material and restore the surface finish. Next, the wheel is checked on a balancing machine to ensure it rotates evenly without vibration. If required, minor straightening is done.
