Habapan Sing Syiem Khyrim Kingdom Meghalaya| A Royalty In The North East|

The Khyrim Kingdom, also known as Hima Khyrim, is one of the oldest and most prominent traditional Khasi kingdoms in Meghalaya. Its royal family carries the title “Syiem,” meaning king or chief in Khasi tradition. The capital of the Khyrim Syiemship is Smit, near Shillong. The royal family is closely associated with preserving Khasi customs, traditions, and the famous Nongkrem Dance Festival (Shad Nongkrem), one of the most important cultural festivals of the Khasi people.
