Why I Took TWO LENSES To This Nature Reserve
When visiting somewhere new, you never quite know what you might see! That's exactly why I packed 2 lenses for this nature reserve - both the Canon EF 400mm F/5.6 and Canon EF 100mm F/2.8 Macro Lens (with my Canon R6). Today I'm at Stanley Ferry Flash, also known as Newlands Country Park, near Wakefield, West Yorkshire, in the UK. I'm hoping to do some bird photography with my longer telephoto and macro photography with the smaller macro lens. It's a beautiful summer's afternoon, on a lovely reserve, but will I find some good subjects to photograph using both lenses? Do you take more than one lens with you for different subjects? These days some lenses have shorter minimum focusing distances, letting you capture both larger wildlife subjects and small insects too. Perhaps you use one lens.. that does it all!
