This time, I walked through the Jujigai shopping street in Hakodate City, Hokkaido, Japan. Jujigai means intersection. In the 1900s, this was the center of Hakodate city. And at that time, this area was the best entertainment district in the city located north of Tokyo. However, there are only a few traces of it now. A little further down Ginza-Dori, there is a short arcade between Densha-Dori (08:15). This street is called Suehiro Arcade. The intersection of Suehiro Arcade and Ginza Street is the only corner where you can feel the bustle of the past. Even here alone, it is a landscape that I hope will remain. I like this Old Hakodate. It is a pity that the former downtown area has been destroyed and disappeared.
