For this 12-hour trip to the Macau Peninsula, we opted for a day trip, staying in Hong Kong, to save time packing, checking in, and checking out. The key was a leisurely pace, avoiding the crowds. 📜 12-hour Old Town Slow Walk Route (No Backtracking): 1️⃣ Senado Square & St. Dominic's Church 👀Hidden View: The Treasury of Our Lady of St. Church, next to the church, is free to enter and houses over 300 religious artifacts. The wooden staircase has a great atmosphere, and the decorations have a contemporary feel. 2️⃣ Ruins of St. Paul's 🧐Hidden View: Walking down the steps of the Ruins of St. Paul's, you can see the Na Tcha Temple and Memorial Hall behind it. The temple has a history of over a century and details the connection between Na Tcha and this auspicious lotus land. 3️⃣ Macau Museum + Monte Fort Garden 👀Hidden View: A cannon muzzle on the garden wall offers a direct view of the Grand Lisboa Hotel. The oval frame composition is quite unique. By the way, the Grand Lisboa is visible from almost anywhere on the Macau Peninsula, no wonder it was chosen by the gambling king. 4️⃣ Rua da Felicidade 🧐Hidden View: The Macau Film Archive is located here, hosting occasional art exhibitions and art film screenings. The archive's outdoor area resembles a retro garden, perfect for taking photos. Inside, there are free film books to read, making it a great place to escape the heat. 5️⃣ Rua do Campo (Needs no introduction, brimming with artistic charm, great for photos and exploration) 6️⃣ Lotus Garden of the Goddess of Mercy 👀Hidden View: Take a walk in the waterfront park around 7 pm during the blue hour, with the sea breeze blowing – perfect for photos. 7⃣️ Fisherman's Wharf (Personally, I didn't like it much. It felt a bit deserted at night, and there were too many stone statues, even a little scary, so I didn't include it in the video.) 🍽️Food🍽️ Wong Chi Kee, Shun Yee Milk Company, Rooster Portuguese Restaurant. The first two are too similar to typical Hong Kong food, so I thought they were just so-so. The Portuguese food is definitely worth trying.
