Week 1: Words To Live By —Announce the Good News
This Sunday, July 5th, as we mark 250 years of liberty, we reflect on the words of our sixth president, John Quincy Adams, spoken on July 4, 1837, the sixty-first anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Even more importantly, we consider the words of Isaiah and Jesus that shaped Adams and his vision for our nation—a vision that calls us to “Announce the Good News” and heed Jesus’ message in Luke 4:16–20.
