President John F. Kennedy’s remarks at the dedication ceremony for the Greers Ferry Dam and Reservoir held in Heber Springs, Arkansas. In his speech President Kennedy characterizes the project as an example of what can be accomplished through the diligent, cooperative efforts of many. In his opening words and again in the course of his remarks he referred to U.S. Senator John L. McClellan, Governor Orval Faubus, U.S. Representative Wilbur D. Mills, U.S. Senator J. W. Fulbright, and U.S. Representatives Oren Harris, James W. Trimble, and E. C. Gathings -- all of Arkansas.
