"Così ho scoperto l'assassino di Carol Maltesi"

Andrea Tortelli, a Brescia-based journalist and editor of BsNews.it, was the protagonist of a story that, if it weren't true, would read like the script of a Hitchcock-esque thriller. We're talking about how a terrible murder case was solved: that of 26-year-old Carol Maltesi. The young woman was found dismembered and stuffed into garbage bags in a ravine in Valcamonica, in March 2022. Initially, the identity of those remains was a mystery, so much so that investigators, to unravel the mystery, released a description, the only significant clue of which was the tattoos still partially visible on her battered body. This is where Tortelli comes in. The journalist received a tip from a reader that the tattoos resembled those of a young woman (Carol Maltesi, aka Carlotte Angie) who, to supplement her income, had begun making pornographic videos on Onlyfans during the lockdown. But there was a problem: no one had reported her missing, and she was still alive. Tortelli had the intuition to get to the bottom of the matter, recovering the woman's cell phone number, which was regularly active, apparently confirming that the body found could not be hers, and tried to contact her on WhatsApp. Thus he discovered the truth and solved the case. In this video interview for Fronte del Blog, Tortelli tells the whole story to crime writer Rino Casazza.
