Marty Podskoch - 250th Celebration: Adirondack History Author Talk

Celebrate the 250th Birthday of the US with a medley of Adirondack History books by Marty Podskoch. Marty takes us on a journey through the rugged beauty and rich history of the Adirondack Mountains. He presents a "medley" of his six popular Adirondack works and shares stories of the people, places, and legends that define the North Country. In 2013, the Adirondack Mountain Club presented Podskoch with the “Arthur E. Newkirk ADK Education Award” for achievement in chronicling the social history and lore of the Catskills and Adirondack Fire Towers and the Adirondack Civilian Conservation Corps Camps. He spent many years traveling throughout the Adirondacks giving talks and tracking down these interesting observers who spent years watching for smoke and calling rangers to extinguish the fires. Author and historian known for his extensive research into the Catskills, Adirondack fire towers, and his CCC Adirondack, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Vermont books. He also wrote travel books in the Adirondacks, Connecticut and Rhode Island. He is a former reading teacher in Delhi, NY, and now lives in Easton, CT.
