He's been doing this job for almost seven years. He's 35, like me, and has been married for several years to a 29-year-old woman. They have two children. He's already come to Europe twice to visit me and spend his holidays with me. For some time now, he had often spoken to me about his plan to immigrate to Canada, mainly because his wife was very insistent on it. Personally, I always tried to dissuade him, given his very comfortable situation in Cameroon. He owns a beautiful house that he built himself, several real estate investments, and a plantation. He is someone who knows how to manage his money and invest wisely. Every time he spoke to me about Canada, I advised him to stay in Cameroon. I told him that with his circumstances, he didn't need to leave everything behind. He could travel whenever he wanted, come to Europe or elsewhere for vacations with his family, without necessarily emigrating. Then, at the beginning of 2025, I learned from the family that they had already left for Canada with the children. He hadn't even told me. He had quit his job and left his entire life behind. He didn't sell his main house, but he liquidated some of his rental properties before leaving. Later, he explained to me that he had finally agreed because his wife had convinced him it was better for the children's future. Yet, in Cameroon, she already managed a good portion of their assets. She even owned shops financed by her husband. They had household staff, a security guard, and lived in a comfort many would envy. Despite all this, she still harbored the idea of ​​moving to the West. Recently, he called me to tell me about his difficulties. He explained that the economic situation in Canada is complicated, that he's struggling to find work in his field, and that his marriage is going through a serious crisis. According to him, his wife is now disrespectful, often going out to the Afro choir without telling him. I can already imagine the gossips from the islands reacting to this new woman; she'll be the death of her husband. Their 5-year-old son has been constantly sick and anxious since their arrival; he never had this problem in Cameroon. I reminded him that I had advised him not to leave. Today, I see my cousin completely changed. He's lost weight, he's stressed, he seems exhausted both mentally and physically. His parents, who stayed in Cameroon, are very worried about him. They're asking him to return home with his wife and children for a family consultation, but she refuses, lol. How do some women manage to manipulate such an intelligent, educated man? How could he make such a weighty decision without considering all the risks and his online antics?
