How to Install a in Hull Garmin Transducer (GT8HW-IH)

Tech Tips: this week we show how to properly install a Garmin GT8HW-IH In Hull Transducer. 1. Clean and prep the work area for installation 2. Find the area that the transducer will work best 3. Abrase the surface with scotch brite, or 80 grit sandpaper 4. Use Acetone to clean the area after abrasion 5. Remove the backing for the guide ring and install the ring where the transducer will be placed 6. Mix epoxy very well ensuring that the two part epoxy is completely mixed to allow all of it to cure. You can tell when it is fully mixed as it will turn cloudy 7. Fill guide ring until full with the mixed epoxy 8. Install Transducer with the wire facing towards the back. Hold in place for the recommended wait time to ensure that the epoxy finishes curing 9.
