The Roman Candy Company (New Orleans, LA) : VendrTV
Because so many of the carts we cover are brand spankin' new, we often forget that street vending isn't a 2010 thing. It's been around for hundreds of years in this country! And one such example is the Roman Candy Company, a New Orleans classic that hasn't changed much since 1915. So what's Roman Candy? Well, it's a hand pulled taffy stick, rolled in wax paper, in a variety of flavors. All the sticks are made fresh on the mule pulled cart, and sold for at 75 cents a piece. It is, by far, the perfect treat to chomp on while strolling down the scenic Garden District. Learn more online.
