A: The chip inside the amiibo is stored in the base, NOT the figure, so changing the figure only changes the physical appearance of the amiibo, the chip in the base doesn't change. The amiibo will still register as the character you used the base from. In my Goomba amiibo, it has a Mabel base and registers as Mabel when scanned. Q: Is this video sponsored by Goof Off? Q: Why don't you just use a Mr. Game & Watch amiibo since he isn't glued into the base? A: Because the figure is only half of the process, and if I use a Mr. Game & Watch Amiibo, I wouldn't have the right packaging to complete the process.
