How we setup and use our Topcon Slope Laser Level for Yard Drainage Work.

In this video we show one of the ways we set slope when installing drainage or grading trenches: Method Shown Here: Connect Two Elevations We keep the laser level and use the receiver on the grade rod to measure the slope between two points. Then we shape the trench so the pipe falls naturally between those elevations. This method works well when: You already know your start and end elevations You don’t need a specific slope percentage You just need the pipe to fall consistently and drain properly We also show how we mount the magnetic receiver on the excavator boom, so one person can dig, check grade, and maintain slope while working.
