However, not everyone is able to use it to collect rewards and provisions for the afterlife. Second by second life continues and our age continues to decrease without being able to be turned back. In this study, we are invited to reflect and learn how to make every leftover time in this life valuable as worship and become a righteous deed that will accompany us in the grave until the Day of Judgment. 1. Time Is The Main Capital Of Life Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala reminds people about the importance of time in His words: "For the sake of time. Indeed, people are truly at a loss, except for those who believe, do good deeds, advise each other in the truth and advise each other in patience." (QS. Al-'Ashr: 1-3) This surah teaches that humans are actually losing if the time they have is not filled with faith, righteous deeds, preaching, and patience. The Prophet said: "There are two favors that many people are deceived about, namely the favor of health and free time." (HR. Bukhari) How many people have only realized the value of time when age has passed, health has begun to disappear, or death is already in front of their eyes. 2. The World is Just a Temporary Stopover Allah Ta'ala says: "Know that the life of this world is only a game and a neglect, adornment and boasting among yourselves and competing in wealth and offspring." (QS. Al-Hadid: 20) The life of this world is only a temporary stopover. Position, wealth, and popularity will be left behind. What will be taken home is only righteous deeds. 3. Straighten Your Intentions and Make Every Activity Worthy of Worship Islam teaches that worldly activities can be worth worship if done with the right intention and in a lawful manner. Allah the Almighty says: "And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, pure in obedience to Him." (QS. Al-Bayyinah: 5) Working to earn a living for your family, studying, helping others, educating children, even daily activities can be righteous deeds if the intention is to seek Allah's pleasure. 4. Increase Dhikr So That All Time Is Worthy of Worship One of the easiest practices to do anytime and anywhere is to remember Allah. Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala says: "O you who believe! Remember Allah with as much dhikr as possible." (QS. Al-Ahzab: 41) Dhikr is not limited by place, time, cost, or physical condition. When walking, working, driving, waiting in line, even when lying down, a Muslim can still collect rewards by multiplying tasbih, tahmid, tahlil, takbir, istighfar, and saying salawat to the Prophet ﷺ. 5. Take advantage of Five Things Before Five Things The Prophet gave great advice: "Take advantage of five things before five things: your youth before your old age, your health before your illness, your wealth before your poverty, your free time before your busyness, and your life before your death." (HR. Al-Hakim) This hadith teaches that every phase of life is a golden opportunity to do charity. Youth will not return, health can be lost, wealth can disappear, free time can turn into busyness, and life will one day definitely end with death.
