Stag do // Spalted beech mounting board for a stags head

Meet Benji. He’s a majestic 10-point stag from South Wales who unfortunately lost about 95% of his body in a tragic climbing accident. Now that he's a city boy, he needs a mounting board that reflects his true glory. Standard rosewood? Absolutely not. Instead, we’re rescuing a log of spalted beech from my dad’s burn pile, letting my brother loose with a chainsaw (pray for his fingers), making a massive mess with epoxy, and using some questionable skills. Plus, Mrs. Coed y Bevan steps in with some expert pyrography while binge-watching reality TV to create a custom live-edge sycamore nameplate. You’ll have to forgive the black lines above and below. I ran out of storage on the iPad so couldn’t export it properly, meaning this is a conglomerate of multiple screen recordings stitched together. #Woodworking #Taxidermy #EpoxyResin #Upcycling #DIY #Pyrography #WorkshopHumor
