The Kurumbas, an indigenous Nilgiris tribe, are expert forest dwellers and are also known for their healing powers. Also the Kurumba tribal painting is an age-old art form in India still practiced by the Kurumba tribes in Nilgiris. The Kurumba paintings depict the tribe’s way of life--farming, animals, their honey hunting escapades etc. Also amazed to learn about the 4000 year old ancient burial method followed by the Irula tribes in this region.
