What starts as a rough piece with holes and uncertainty turns into something pretty special. But it wasn’t an easy decision — do we cut one gem… or risk it and split it into two? Along the way, you’ll also get a real look at what a buying trip to the Ridge looks like. From visiting miners and checking out fresh finds, to heading out bush for a feed of yabbies with Dad. Back in the workshop, we put this 30 carat piece on the wheel and see what’s hiding inside. The color is incredible… but the dips and sand spots make it a risky cut.
